Friend of Children Award (Local Unit Award)

This award may be presented to anyone your unit would like to honor; an outstanding volunteer, teacher, principal, assistant principal, school custodian, cafeteria worker, featured speaker, grandparents, business person or owner who continually supports your PTA.  This person does not have to be a PTA member.

The local unit will submit a check to the GCISD council of PTAs Award chair for $15.  The Council Award Chair will then provide the local unit with the award certificate and Friend of Children pin.

Extended Service Award

In 1987, the Texas PTA Board of Directors developed the criteria for awarding a Texas PTA Extended Service Award to those who have continued to give outstanding service to the Texas PTA.  This recipient must have been actively involved in the Texas PTA for ten (10) years and be a Texas Life Member.  This award is ordered through Texas PTA.
