The GCISD Council of PTAs is seeking nominations for Council level awards to be presented to worthy individuals and businesses at the annual Founder’s Day luncheon to be held on February 16, 2012.  Council awards are in addition to awards that are presented through your local unit.  They are best suited for those who work at the Council level, District level or across multiple schools.   

Award nominations are due by January 30, 2012 and may be sent to Darlene Bodish at darlenebodish@verizon.net or mailed to 3330 Clearfield Dr., Grapevine, TX 76051. 

This award was created to honor individuals for their outstanding efforts on behalf of children across the district and/or in multiple schools.  The Friend of Children Award may be presented to an outstanding volunteer, teacher, principal, assistant principal, staff member, business manager or owner who continually supports PTA or our district.  This person or organization does not have to be a PTA member.

Extended Service Award                                                                                                                                          

In 1987, the Texas PTA Board of Directors developed the criteria for awarding a Texas PTA Extended Service Award to those who have continued to give outstanding service to the Texas PTA.  This recipient must have been actively involved in the Texas PTA for ten (10) years and be a Texas Life Member. 

An Honorary National or Texas Life Membership is one of the highest honors that can bestowed upon an individual by the National or Texas PTA for outstanding contributions to the well-being of children and youth.  This person must also be a member of the PTA and support the Objects of PTA. 

Awarded to an educator (employee of GCISD) who has served GCISD students for a minimum of five years; who demonstrates support of all the Objects of PTA in their service to students; and who is a PTA member in good standing.
